It's good to be different

Apple uses slogan "Think different". There something in it.

Recently I talked to one of our customers and asked why did you choose our solution (AMODIT). And the answer was: "Because it is different". I really like it. In fact the more you are different the less competitors you have.

So I enjoy being different. And it is great AMODIT is different :)

Limiting risk

Today I have made a good decision. There was a need to make some improvements in a system before showing it to users. We had pressure to do it. But doing it one day before presentation could result in some new bugs, because there is no time to test everything. So I decided that it is better to show something known, than to show something a little better but with unknown bugs.

It is good to be an early adopter

One of our customers decided to deploy AMODIT when it was in early stage, meaning version 1.0.
Being an early adopter seems risky. There not many deployments nor satisfied customers. You are in fact "guinea pig". But it can have many advantages too. Our customer have seen this as a main argument to choose our product. And if you this about it you will see it makes sense.
So what are advantages:

1. You can influence roadmap of a product, so it is more suitable for your needs.
2. You have direct contact with product manager and support team.
3. You can get a special price.
4. You don't have to pay for everything, because part of work is treated as product development, and not as services.
5. You become referential customer, so you have to be satisfied.

Have it in mind when you choose a product :)

I like blogger.com so much that I decided to create new blog :) This time about AMODIT workflow system.
This is want I do for the last 2 years. Till now I just published information on www.amodit.com. But this is regular web page and it takes more time to publish news. Mainly because it has some structure.
